Coaches Tool Kit
SportsEngine is what we will use to help keep our kids safe with a streamlined player safety program that includes industry-leading background screenings as well as managing our player safety compliance, including, but not limited to, the new SafeSport training, concussion training and Lindsay’s Law.
Effective for the 2019/2020 seasonal year, Ohio North’s new Player Safety program (formerly referred to as Risk Management), will require adults to complete their background screening (every two years) and applicable player safety compliance (as required by state/federal laws and/or Ohio North policy) directly in SportsEngine regardless of your current registration platform.
An adult is defined as all coaches, team managers, trainers, organization staff/employees, board members and any other person age 18 or older who may have the opportunity to have direct and unmonitored access to children in your organization.
Background Screening Validity Dates (If completed betweenIt is valid through)
July 1, 2019 – June 30, 2020 July 31, 2021
July 1, 2020 – June 30, 2021 July 31, 2022
July 1, 2021 – June 30, 2022 July 31, 2023
Background Screening Cost/Payment
The cost is $20 per background screening, which will be payable online 1) by the adult requesting and completing the application, and/or 2) a pre-paid code from your club/league to be set up when the system launches July 1st
